VIP Break Darshan isn’t available every single day. TTD suspends it around major temple festivals so that ritual arrangements and the ordinary devotee queue both get priority over VIP access. Most guides mention this in passing; this page exists specifically to track which dates are affected, since that list changes through the year and TTD rarely announces it more than a few weeks ahead.

Currently Active Restrictions (as of mid-August 2026)
August 2026
- August 22 — VIP Break Darshan suspended for Ankurarpanam (Pavitrotsavam).
- August 24 — Suspended again for Pavitra Samarpana, the second day of Pavitrotsavam.
September 2026
- September 8 — Suspended for Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam, ahead of the Srivari Brahmotsavams.
- September 14 — Suspended for Ankurarpanam.
- September 15–23 — VIP Break Darshan is off the table entirely during the Srivari Brahmotsavams. It’s the longest gap of the year without VIP access, so if your travel dates have any flexibility, plan around this window.
Earlier in 2026 (for reference)
- July 14, 17, 19, and 29 were also restricted — Koil Alwar Tirumanjanam, Anivara Asthanam, an event for the Sri Andavan Ashramam, and Chaturmasya Sankalpam.
- The recommendation-letter suspension that ran May 1 to July 15, 2026 (brought in for the summer rush) is over. Letters are being accepted again, except on the blackout dates above.
The Recommendation Letter Rule You Need to Know
TTD doesn’t just block VIP darshan on the listed dates — it also blocks recommendation letters the day before each one. So if VIP darshan is suspended on August 22, letters won’t be honored on August 21 either. This catches people off guard more than the actual suspension dates do, since it’s easy to assume the restriction only applies to the day of the event.
Protocol dignitaries (sitting officials on official duty) are the one exception to this rule.
What Stays Suspended Alongside VIP Darshan
On these dates, it’s not just Srivani that pauses. Senior citizen, differently-abled, infant-parent, NRI, and Srivani donor darshan categories are all affected too. If your trip relies on one of these, check your dates against the list above before you book.
There’s also a traffic rule tied specifically to the Brahmotsavam period: two-wheelers can’t use the Tirumala Ghat Roads from 9 PM on September 18 to 6 AM on September 20, 2026, because of the crowd expected for Garuda Seva.
Booking Around These Dates
If your travel dates happen to fall on or near a restricted date, your realistic options are:
- Shift your travel by a day or two if your plans allow it — the suspensions are date-specific, not month-long.
