TTD Senior Citizen & Medical Darshan 2026: The “Easy Access” Guide

If you are traveling with parents over the age of 60 or family members with chronic health conditions, you do not need to stand in the 15-hour general lines. TTD provides a dedicated “privileged” entry that is designed to be completed in under 2 to 3 hours.

Who Qualifies? (2026 Eligibility)

  • Senior Citizens: Anyone aged 60 years or older. You must carry your Original Physical Aadhaar Card (No digital copies).

  • Medical Category: Individuals with physical disabilities, recent major surgeries (like bypass or transplant), or chronic conditions like Stage 4 cancer or kidney dialysis. You must carry a valid medical certificate issued by a government doctor.

  • The Attendant Rule: Only one person is allowed to accompany the pilgrim if they are over 80 years old or physically unable to walk. If the senior is 62 and fit, an attendant is usually not permitted.

How to Book (The May 24th Window)

Like the ₹300 tickets, these are released monthly.

  • Next Release: May 24, 2026, at 3:00 PM IST (for August 2026 slots).

  • Where to book: ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in

  • Cost: Free (₹0).

The Reporting Reality: Dakshin Mada Street

The entry point for this category isn’t the main Vaikuntam complex. It is a dedicated counter near the Dakshin Mada Street (near the Museum).

  • Timings: Usually, there are two slots—10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

  • Facilities: TTD provides battery-operated cars from various points in Tirumala to drop you at this specific entry. Inside the waiting hall, you’ll find chairs, water, and milk—a far cry from the crowded compartments of the general line.

Angapradakshinam vs. Senior Citizen Darshan: Which one?

I often get asked: “My 65-year-old father wants to do Angapradakshinam. Should I book it?”

The Honest Answer for 2026: Unless your parent is extremely physically fit and accustomed to traditional rituals, choose the Senior Citizen Darshan.

  • Angapradakshinam involves rolling on a hard stone floor at 2:00 AM in wet clothes. It is spiritually rewarding but physically grueling.

  • Senior Citizen Darshan allows them to sit comfortably, avoid the 1 AM wake-up call, and see the Lord without being pushed by the massive May crowds.

The “Expert” Checklist for your 2026 Trip:

  1. Check the “Verification” Line: Even with an online token, there is a physical verification of the Aadhaar card at the counter. If the age doesn’t match the Aadhaar, they will cancel the ticket on the spot.

  2. No Shoes: Even for the elderly, shoes must be deposited at the counter outside. If your parents have trouble walking barefoot, consider getting them non-slip temple socks (available at local shops in Tirupati).

  3. The Wheelchair Factor: TTD provides wheelchairs at the entry point. You do not need to bring your own, but you should arrive 30 minutes early to secure one.

Is your parent traveling alone? TTD has “Srivari Seva” volunteers specifically assigned to help solo seniors navigate the line.
