A quick note on the two Friday-only sevas: Abhishekam and Vastralankarana Seva both require ID submitted a day in advance at the counter — you can’t walk in same-day and expect to get a slot for either.
What Kumkumarchana Involves
Since this is the one most people ask about specifically: after buying your ticket, you’re guided into a designated mandapam and seated in rows alongside other devotees for a group chant. The priest recites the 108 names of the Goddess while everyone participates quietly. At the end, kumkum is offered to each person individually. From there, you’re led through a separate, dedicated queue for darshan — noticeably calmer and faster than the general line, since you’re already routed differently.
Each ticket covers one person. Children need their own ticket too, unless the counter staff tells you otherwise on the day — this occasionally varies, so it’s worth asking rather than assuming.
Booking Online
- Log in to ttdevasthanams.ap.gov.in.
- Go to Seva → select Tiruchanur Temple → choose your seva (Kumkumarchana, Abhishekam, etc.).
- Pick your date and available time slot.
- Enter devotee details and ID.
- Complete payment and download your confirmation.
Most sevas allow two tickets per booking, though Abhishekam and Vastralankarana are the exceptions requiring advance ID submission at the physical counter, as mentioned above.
Dress Code for Sevas
Since you’re seated close to the sanctum for most of these rituals, TTD is stricter here than for general darshan. Traditional attire is expected — comfortable clothing that fits temple norms works best, given you’ll be seated for the duration rather than moving through a queue.
