he Srivari Laddu is the most sought-after prasadam in the world. While the production at the “Potu” (temple kitchen) happens around the clock, knowing where and when to collect them will save you hours of standing in line after your darshan.

Laddu Counter Operating Hours
The main Laddu complex is located outside the temple (North-East corner).
-
Operating Hours: 24 Hours / 7 Days a Week.
-
Best Time to Collect: If you have an evening darshan, try to collect your extra laddus between 9:00 PM and 11:00 PM when the general crowd is thinner.
-
Peak Rush: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Expect a wait time of 20–40 minutes during these hours.
2. How to Get Your Laddus (Darshan Types)
In 2026, the process is linked directly to your Darshan ticket or your Aadhaar-based registration.
-
Free Laddu (Standard): Every pilgrim with a valid Darshan ticket (SED, SSD, or Divya Darshan) is entitled to one free small laddu. This is collected after you exit the main temple at the designated counters in the Laddu Complex.
-
Extra Laddus (Paid): You can purchase additional laddus at the counters. In 2026, the price is ₹50 per laddu.
-
Tokenless System: You no longer need to buy separate paper tokens for extra laddus. You can pay via UPI or Cash directly at the counter by showing your Darshan ticket or scanning your fingerprint (linked to your registration).
3. The “Boondi” & Potu Schedule
-
Fresh Batches: Freshly prepared laddus are brought from the temple kitchen to the counters every 15 to 30 minutes in large motorized trolleys.
-
Shelf Life: A Tirumala Laddu stays fresh for 7 to 10 days at room temperature. If you are traveling long distances, do not keep them in airtight plastic containers while they are still warm.
4. 2026 Ground Reality: Tips for Pilgrims
-
Bring Your Own Bags: TTD has banned plastic bags. You can buy eco-friendly jute or cloth bags at the counters (ranging from ₹10 to ₹50), but it’s cheaper and more sustainable to carry your own cloth bag from home.
-
Bulk Orders (Kalyanotsavam): If you have booked a Kalyanotsavam Seva, you are entitled to two big laddus and two vadas. These are collected at a separate dedicated counter inside the temple premises, not the main external complex.
-
The “Locker” Strategy: Since you cannot take phones or bags into the temple, you’ll likely collect your laddus after retrieving your belongings from the TTD lockers. The Laddu Complex is a 5-minute walk from the main locker centers.
FAQsÂ
Q: Can I get Laddus without having a Darshan? A: In 2026, TTD occasionally opens “Direct Sale” counters in Tirumala and Tirupati (near the Railway Station) for those who couldn’t get darshan, but this is subject to daily stock availability. It is not guaranteed.
Q: Is there a limit on how many extra laddus I can buy? A: Usually, there is a limit of 2 extra laddus per person on the standard ticket. However, during lean periods, this limit is often relaxed.
Q: Are there different sizes? A: Yes. The Proktham Laddu (Standard size, 175g) is what most people get. There is also the Kalyanam Laddu (Big size, 750g), which is usually reserved for Seva participants.
