Kadampuzha Temple, also known as Kadampuzha Devi Temple or Bhagavathi Temple, is a prominent shrine located in Kadampuzha, Malappuram district, Kerala, India. The temple is one of the major pilgrimage centres for the devotees of the Goddess Durga. The temple is dedicated to the Goddess Parvati (a form of Maa Durga). She is worshipped in the form of a Hunter in the temple.
This temple’s unique feature is that there is no idol of the Goddess at the Kadampurzha Temple, and she is worshipped in a pit. The presence of Lord Ganesha is also believed to be with the Goddess, and there are sub-shrines for Lord Sastha and serpent deities. A separate Shiva shrine is also situated near the temple, called ‘Madambiyarkavu’. Both these temples are under the control of the Malabar Devaswom Board. Let’s explore the complete details by reading this post ahead.
