4. The “No-Electronics” Survival Guide
Akshardham has one of the strictest security protocols in India.
-
Strictly Banned: Mobile phones, cameras, smartwatches, USB drives, and electronic keys.
-
Cloakroom: There is a FREE cloakroom at the entrance. Be prepared for a 20-30 minute queue just to deposit your phone on busy Sundays.
-
Photos: Since you can’t take your own, there are official photographers inside who can take a “Vantage Point” photo of you for a small fee (approx. ₹150-₹300).
5. Human Tips for Your 2026 Visit
-
The Food Situation: Don’t miss the Premvati Food Court. The food is 100% vegetarian, incredibly clean, and affordable. The Swaminarayan Khichdi is a fan favorite.
-
Dress Code: It is a sacred house of worship. Ensure your shoulders and knees are covered. If you forget, the temple provides a free sarong (with a refundable ₹100 deposit).
-
Footwear: You’ll have to remove your shoes to enter the main Mandir. In the Delhi heat, the marble can get hot, so use the matted pathways provided.
-
How to Reach: The Akshardham Metro Station (Blue Line) is just 350 meters from the gate. It is much faster than driving through the NH-24 traffic.
