That ₹150 gap between the counter price and the online price isn’t a markup on the sweet itself — it’s courier and packaging cost. Same Potu kitchen, same recipe, same GI-tagged prasadam either way.
The Free Laddu Rule
One small laddu comes free after darshan, regardless of which ticket type you booked — this applies broadly across darshan categories now, not just to ₹300 SED holders as some older guides still claim. Beyond that one, everything is a paid purchase at the counter.
How Many Extra Can You Buy?
This is where the honest answer is “it depends,” and we’d rather say that than give you a number that turns out wrong at the counter. Reports on the extra-laddu limit range from 2 per person up to 4 or 6, depending on the specific counter, the day’s stock, and occasionally the ticket type you’re carrying. Treat 2 as the safe baseline to expect, and anything beyond that as a bonus if the counter has stock that day.
The counter is located on West Mada Road, a short walk from the temple exit, behind the Pushkarini. It’s first-come, first-served — no advance booking or reservation exists for the physical counter, and queues build up fast after darshan hours, especially on weekends.
Does Online Home Delivery Actually Work?
Here’s where sources genuinely disagree, and it’s worth knowing before you count on it. Some current guides describe a working “Proforma Laddu Booking” option on tirumala.org, with online payment and home delivery in 3–7 working days anywhere in India. Others, checked around the same time, state that official nationwide home delivery isn’t consistently available and that most laddu access still happens on-site or through ticket-linked options.
Our honest read: the online ordering option has existed and worked in the past, but availability seems to fluctuate rather than being a permanently reliable channel. Before planning around it — especially for a gift or event — check tirumala.org directly rather than assuming the service is live the day you need it. If it isn’t working when you check, buying extra at the physical counter during your visit is the more dependable route.
One thing worth remembering regardless of which route you use: tirumala.org is the only authentic source. Laddus sold through Amazon, Flipkart, or any third-party site or reseller are not genuine TTD prasadam — TTD does not distribute through outside platforms.
Shelf Life, If You’re Carrying Them Home
Vacuum-packed laddus from the counter or online orders typically stay fresh for 7–15 days depending on packaging, so factor your travel time home into how many you realistically need.
