Vaikom Sree Mahadeva Temple is a renowned Hindu shrine in Vaikom, Kottayam, Kerala, India. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Sree Mahadeva Temple in Vaikom is considered an important Shiva Temple in Kerala. The temple was built in the Traditional Kerala style of architecture. This holy site is mentioned as the Vaiyaghra geham and Vaiyaghra Puram in the ancient Sanskrit texts, Bhargava Purana, and Sanalkumara Samhita. It is an ancient temple, and there is no evidence found which tells about the exact timing of temple construction. The temple is maintained and administered by the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB).

The Vaikom Mahadeva Temple is offering Online Darshanam booking facilities to all devotees. To book the Darshan at the Temple, you have to follow the steps below carefully;

Vaikom Mahadeva Temple Vaikathashtami
Vaikathashtami is a famous festival celebrated at the Vaikom Mahadeva Temple. Vadakkupurathu Pattu is a 12-day Kalamezhuthu Pattu (ritualistic art and song) performed once every 12 years to appease Goddess Bhadrakali. This sacred event, conducted on the Karthika day of the Malayalam month of Meenam. It takes place in the northern courtyard of the Vaikom Mahadeva Temple and is accompanied by special rituals and Guruthi offerings. In 2025, Vaikathashtami at the Vaikom Mahadeva Temple is celebrated on December 12th.
